The Pros and Cons of Homework
Homework. You either hate it or love it, there's some pros and cons about it and that's what I’ll be talking about today. For example: you can have stress having to complete that homework when you have other things you want to do, but a pro is you can actually get some extra practice in with it.
Homework is schoolwork that a student is required to do at home. In this paragraph I’ll talk about the pros of homework. (good side of homework) Don't worry, we’ll get to the cons later. One of the many pros of doing homework is getting more practice on a topic. If you’re confused, curious, whatever, you get some more practice in with homework. Yes, if you're confused then homework can't help since you don't know how to do the assignment, but, if you are in that situation you can contact your teacher for help. If you can't contact them, meet them in class the next day and tell them why you couldn't do it.
Secondly, with homework it helps studying. It's been proven that some little amounts of homework can help with developing study habits.
Lastly, homework also develops time management skills. With the amount of homework you're being assigned, you probably have a schedule set to remind you to do your work. So, this develops time management skills that way.
Now, for the part everyone's been waiting for, the cons. As you can guess, in this paragraph I’ll be talking about the cons of homework.
First off, homework causes stress. When you're being assigned homework, sometimes it wont even fit in your bag. You’re so stressed out you start to procrastinate, put work to the side, and just give a bare minimum effort. Sometimes, you can have a lot of problems to do, but they’re easy as soon as you start. But just seeing the tower of work you have to do already sets off the stress alarm.
Secondly, along with stress, it causes procrastination. Now, what is procrastination? Glad you asked! Procrastination is the action of delaying or postponing something.Basically saying to yourself that you’ll do it later when you really never will, or, if you will do it, it’ll be very late at night. Third, Your parents are not helping. - the formulas they use are outdated and they are only gonna make it more awkward and cause more stress. And lastly, a point I really support is kids should only get homework if there is a test, exam, or assessment coming up. Otherwise it's pretty much pointless.
Those are some of the many pros and cons of homework. Let me know if you have any other opinions, points, or statements on homework in the comments. As you can see, homework just doesn't only have cons, it has pros to it too. (Though, that can easily be put against with another argument)
Thanks for reading!
I liked how much there was in each paragraph, nice job I don't see anything i would change.
